Tawny Taupe Edit

The chameleon of the colour wheel with its roots in the animal world Tawny Taupe can create calm, comforting, and sophisticated schemes that stand the test of time.

“Shades of Mink, Sable, and Mudstone epitomise this classic colour palette. The perfect neutral base for timeless interiors, it is a colour that is versatile and enduring, and is a perennial favourite of mine.”

Bernie de Le Cuona

The word Taupe originates from the French word, taupe, which means ‘mole’ and is often used to describe moleskin. It is a colour with authenticity and richness, where chocolate brown meets all shades of grey. The Tawny Taupe palette showcases the many hues that can be called taupe from dark milk chocolate to soft turtle dove.

Use the full breadth of taupe shades to create a smart, tailored scheme. Combine and contrast the rich textures of Attenborough and Bearcat wool bouclés with the elegant silk and linen mix of Smoking Jacket Dove or the delicate sheer lustre of Burnished Linen. Add distinctive textural pattern using Nara, an artisanal alpaca and linen weave, or Kyoto an innovative combination of linen and wool bouclé to create interest and nuance. For a touch of sumptuous glamour, Cavalier in Saddle exudes opulence, whilst Bison a 100% linen tightly woven tactile rib brings strength and resilience to a room.
