de Le Cuona joined Walpole in 2019, It was a milestone for the de Le Cuona brand to be officially recognised as a luxury brand in a luxury sector.

Walpole is the official sector body for UK luxury. Founded in 1992 as a not-for-profit organisation, it counts more than 210 British brands in its membership and is recognised in both Westminster and Brussels. As the voice of British luxury, Walpole’s purpose is to promote, protect and develop a sector worth £32.2 billion to the UK economy and the jewel in the crown of UK business.

In 2020 Bernie de Le Cuona was named one of the 50 Most Influential People in British Luxury. Bernie was recognised in the new Custodians category of inspirational individuals who excel as leaders of innovation and sustainability in their sector. The Power List celebrates the 50 Most Influential People in British Luxury – within Walpole member brands who have continued to steer the sector to success.

de Le Cuona also joined the Walpole British Luxury Sustainability Manifesto in 2020, whose ambitious and comprehensive aim is to support the British luxury sector in lowering carbon emissions, reducing environmental impacts, and ensuring more sustainable future growth. Since launch, 70 Walpole members have joined founding signatories; Harrods, Burberry, Mulberry, Dunhill, Johnston's of Elgin, The Savoy and Chivas Brothers in support of the manifesto - all of whom share an ambition to make the UK’s luxury sector the most sustainable in the world. As a part of the Working Groups, de Le Cuona shares its insights and work on sustainable packaging, eliminating plastic in supply chain, carbon emission reduction, product certifications, etc.
